SHREVEPORT, La. - In the latest poll taken by D3Baseball.com (with games through Sunday, March 4), the Diamond Gents move up to eighth in the nation.
The ranking matches Centenary's best ranking in the D3Baseball.com poll history as the Gents sat eighth in the fifth regular season poll in 2017.
Centenary (7-3) has the 37th-best ERA in the country (2.79) and is 22nd with a 3.4 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Individually, senior Kaleb Kirk leads the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and is 163rd in the nation with a 0.48 ERA.
Fellow SCAC-member Trinity sits just ahead of the Gents in seventh. The Tigers and Gents play a three-game series at Shehee Stadium April 28-29 to close out the regular season.
The Gents return to action this Friday, March 9, when it takes on La Verne in Orange, California. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. (2:30 p.m. PST).
