Baseball Game At LeTourneau Cancelled On Tuesday; DH Set For Next Week

Shreveport – Centenary's non-conference baseball game at LeTourneau University scheduled for Tuesday evening in Longview, Texas has been cancelled and the teams will play a doubleheader next week in Shreveport at Shehee Stadium.

Centenary and LeTourneau will play a DH next Tuesday, April 16 at 3 p.m. – which will consist of a pair of seven-inning games. The teams were originally scheduled to play a single game at 6 p.m.

The Diamond Gents (14-10, 9-2 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference) completed a three-game series weekend sweep over the Southwestern University Pirates in league play on Saturday. Centenary recorded a 5-1 victory on Friday night in the series opener and then swept a doubleheader on Saturday by scores of 12-9 and 11-5. Centenary has won nine of 11 games, is 6-1 at home this season, and is an impressive 52-16 at home since the beginning of the 2021 season.

The Diamond Gents, currently in second place in the league standings and just a half-game behind leader Trinity University, hit the road this weekend in SCAC play as they face the University of St. Thomas Celts (11-18, 6-6 SCAC) in Houston.
