Shreveport - The Centenary baseball team has been selected as Centenary Athletics' "Team of the Week" after the Diamond Gents recorded another series win in conference play this past weekend on the road against the University of St. Thomas Celts in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play in Houston.

The Diamond Gents (16-11, 11-3 SCAC) recorded a 4-2 win in the series opener on Friday night and then split a doubleheader on Saturday, winning game one by a score of 7-3 and falling 8-7 in 10 innings in game two. Centenary has won 11 of 14 games, five of six, and have won four SCAC series in a row. The Diamond Gents, now 9-7 on the road this season, are just a half-game behind Trinity University (24-8, 12-3 SCAC) in the conference standings.

The top four teams in the standings at the conclusion of the regular season qualify for the 2024 SCAC Tournament scheduled for May 3-5 in Cleburne, Texas.

Centenary takes a break from conference play on Tuesday as the Maroon and White face LeTourneau University in a DH set for 3 p.m. at Shehee Stadium.
