Marshall, Texas - The Centenary men's soccer team will face the Texas Baptist University Tigers in a non-conference match set for 7 p.m. at Cornish Soccer Field.

The Gents (3-2-1) and Tigers (5-2) are meeting for the ninth time and Centenary leads the all-time series 3-2-3. The schools met last season, also in Marshall, and finished in a 2-2 tie.

Centenary dropped a 1-0 decision to the University of Texas at Dallas Comets in a non-conference contest on Thursday evening in Richardson, Texas while ETBU defeated McMurry University by a score of 4-1 on Thursday in a match also in Richardson that preceded the Gents and Comets. The Tigers are 2-1 at home this season while the Gents are 0-1 on the road and 1-2 in road/neutral matches.

The Gents) and Comets were locked in a scoreless battle on Thursday night until UTD's Riley O'Donnell converted a penalty kick in the 69th minute for a 1-0 lead following a handball in the box on the Gents and the Comets' defense made that score stand to seal the victory. Centenary's two-game winning streak was snapped after the Maroon and White defeated Mississippi University for Women (MUW) by a score of 9-0 last Friday and Ouachita Baptist University 3-0 on Sunday.

Freshman GK Sebastian Lutin (Fort Worth, Texas) started for the Gents and went the distance, making a season-high eight saves in his 90 minutes of action. Lutin, in five starts this season has recorded 22 saves and four or more in three matches. Lutin, who is tied for second in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in saves, also ranks third in the league in save percentage (.846), fifth in saves per game (4.40), and seventh in goals against average (GAA) at 0.80.

Freshman F Nathan Uduojie (Houston, Texas), freshman MF Kevin Huskey Jr. (Dallas, Texas), and senior MF Hunter Booth (Harrodsburg, Ky.) are all tied for the team lead with three goals each.

Freshman MF Emiliano Mondragon (Dallas, Texas) leads the Gents with four assists and ranks in the top 25 nationally in division III. He is second in the conference, only behind Trinity University's Will Powell (5).

The Gents, who have recorded two shutouts this season, have only allowed four goals and nine players have scored at least one goal while five have scored multiple goals. Eight Gents have tallied at least one assist with four players having two or more.

Centenary has been one of the SCAC's top offensive clubs so far this season as the Maroon and White rank in the top five in the league in assists, goals, points and shots.

A Glance at ETBU:

The Tigers, led by head coach Isaiah Simien, have scored 16 goals this season and seven players have found the net this season with three players scoring two or more. Dylan Garcia and Junior Lopez are tied for the lead with five goals each and Regan Trojacek has scored a pair.

ETBU has 10 assists as seven players have recorded at least one and three players have multiple assists.
