Richardson, Texas - The Centenary men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to the University of Texas at Dallas Comets in a non-conference contest on Thursday evening at the UTD Soccer Complex.

The Gents (3-2-1) and Comets (3-1-1) were locked in a scoreless battle until UTD's Riley O'Donnell converted a penalty kick in the 69th minute for a 1-0 lead following a handball in the box on the Gents and the Comets' defense made that score stand to seal the victory. Centenary is now 0-2-1 all-time against the Comets, a division II program.

Centenary's two-game winning streak was snapped after the Maroon and White defeated Mississippi University for Women (MUW) by a score of 9-0 last Friday and Ouachita Baptist University 3-0 on Sunday.

Freshman GK Sebastian Lutin (Fort Worth, Texas) started for the Gents and went the distance, making a season-high eight saves in his 90 minutes of action. Lutin, in five starts this season has recorded 22 saves and four or more in three matches. UTD GK Anthony Alston also went the distance and made two saves.

The Comets finished with a decisive advantage in shots (22-8) over the Gents and to seven corner kicks to Centenary's five. UTD had 10 shots on goal and Centenary had two. The Gents were whistled for 12 fouls while the Comets picked up 10. Centenary picked up the match's only two yellow cards.

The Gents remain on the road this weekend to face East Texas Baptist University on Sept. 21 in Marshall, Texas.
