San Antonio – The Centenary volleyball team fell 3-0 to the No. 4-ranked Trinity University Tigers on Saturday afternoon in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference match in its final contest of a weekend conference crossover event hosted by the Tigers at the Bell Center.
The Ladies (9-21, 0-14 SCAC) lost a pair of matches on Friday, 3-0 to Colorado College and 3-2 to Schreiner University. Trinity improved to 20-3 overall and 11-0 in SCAC play as they won the first set, 25-9, took set two by a 25-10 margin, and closed out the sweep with a 25-13 win in set three. Centenary finished with 22 digs, 16 kills, 15 assists, six block assists, and one service aces.
Senior DS/L Jaycie Proctor (Paris, Texas) had seven digs to once again lead the Ladies in that category, senior MB Liz Lowe (San Antonio, Texas) was the leader in kills with five, and freshman S Meadow Smith (Mansfield, Texas) led the way in assists with eight.
The Ladies are back in action on Tuesday evening as the Maroon and White welcome Louisiana Christian University (9-6) to the Gold Dome for their annual Senior Night match set for 6 p.m. The Ladies will honor their three seniors in a pregame ceremony beginning at approximately 5:45 p.m. The teams will be meeting for the second time this season after the Ladies recorded a sweep over the Wildcats back on Sept. 27 in Pineville.
