Sherman, Texas - The Centenary women's soccer team fell 2-0 to the Austin College 'Roos on Friday evening in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contest at Apple Stadium.

The Ladies are now 2-16-1 overall and 2-11 in conference play while the 'Roos picked up their first win of the season to improve to 1-14-1 and 1-12 in the SCAC. Centenary will close its season with another conference match on Sunday at the University of Dallas at 2:30 p.m. in Irving, Texas.

Sophomore GK Madison Ersoff (Shreveport, La.) started in goal for the Ladies and played all 90 minutes as she recorded four saves. Kenedie Lane also went the distance for the 'Roos and made nine saves. Centenary finished with a 17-9 edge in shots but could not find the net as Lane and the AC defense pitched the shutout. The Ladies also took five corner kicks to none for the 'Roos.

Senior F Sydney Bascomb (Mesquite, Texas) needs just one more assist to become the all-time leader in the division III era (2011-present) in the category. She entered the match ranked sixth in the conference this season in shots (36) and has scored a pair of goals this season. She took three shots (one on goal) on Friday and played all 90 minutes.

Austin College took an early 1-0 lead as Brittany Hutton found the net in the 17th minute off an assist from Giselle Melendez. The 'Roos held that 1-0 lead until halftime and then in the 47th minute, Hutton scored again with the assist credited to Priscilla Garcia.
