Baseball Opens Home Series Versus Ozarks On Saturday
The Centenary baseball team returns to Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play this weekend as the Diamond Gents will face the University of the Ozarks Eagles in a three-game series beginning on Saturday with a doubleheader set for Noon at Shehee Stadium.

Shreveport – The Centenary baseball team returns to Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play this weekend as the Diamond Gents will face the University of the Ozarks Eagles in a three-game series beginning on Saturday with a doubleheader set for Noon at Shehee Stadium.
The series between the Diamond Gents (9-15, 5-10 SCAC) and Eagles (7-13, 3-12 SCAC) will conclude with a single game on Sunday at a time to be determined

Centenary lost 11-1 in seven innings to division 1 Northwestern State University on Tuesday evening in a non-conference contest at Brown-Stroud Field in Natchitoches as the Diamond Gents and Demons were meeting for the first time since 2010 back when both programs were division 1.
Ozarks enters this weekend's play riding an eight-game losing streak and is 2-6 on the road this season. The Eagles were swept at home last weekend by Trinity University in league play and have not won since beating Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, Texas on March 7 by a score of 7-5. Centenary, 7-10 at home this season, was swept at Concordia University last weekend and lost the final two games of its league series at home versus Schreiner University the weekend prior as the Maroon and White aim to snap a six-game losing streak on Saturday.
Centenary is currently seventh in the league standings while Ozarks is in last place (11th). The Diamond Gents were picked third in the preseason coaches' poll while the Eagles were predicted to finish ninth. The top four teams in the standings at the conclusion of the regular season will earn a berth in the 2025 SCAC Baseball Tournament held May 2-4 at Dell Diamond Park in Round Rock, Texas.
