Lacrosse Falls at Hendrix on Thursday

Conway, Ark. - The Centenary lacrosse team dropped a non-conference road match to the Hendrix College Warriors, 25-3, on Thursday evening at Young-Wise Memorial Stadium.

The Gents (0-4) will now turn their turn their attention to Sunday as they welcome fellow Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference member the University of Dallas to Mayo Field for a 1 p.m. match on Senior Day. The Warriors improved to 2-1 on the season with the victory.

Centenary trailed just 5-1 after the first period on Thursday but then were outscored 5-0 in the second quarter to trail 10-1 at halftime and then the Warriors held a 15-2 advantage after the break.

Hendrix took 67 shots to just 18 for the Gents but Centenary won 16 of the 30 faceoff opportunities. The Maroon and White also were close in ground balls as they collected 20 to 25 for Hendrix. Centenary had just nine turnovers while the Warriors had seven.

Gents' Senior Goalie Thomas Siskron (Shreveport) played all 60 minutes and had 16 saves. He now has an impressive 187 career saves and entered the game tied for third in the nation in saves per game and the leader in the SCAC in that category. He is ranked fifth in both save percentage and goals against average in the conference and first in save percentage.

Sophomore Mark Temple (Houston, Texas) scored his fifth goal of the season, sophomore John Mark Waniewski (Bossier City, La.) scored his first goal of the season and 10th of his career. Brooks Smitha (Shreveport) also found the net for the first time this season.

Spencer Dorfneilsen set new Hendrix single-game records for goals (9) and points (13) in leading the Warriors' offense. Maximus LaMendola added five goals and one assist and Alec Davis, Brandon Barnes, and Ezra Terry each scored three.
