Lacrosse Falls at Southwestern on Friday Night

Georgetown, Texas - The Centenary lacrosse team fell, 27-3, to the Southwestern Pirates on Friday night in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference match at Varsity Field.

The Gents (1-9, 2-4 SCAC) received a pair of goals from sophomore A John Mark Waniewski (Bossier City, La.) and a goal from freshman M/A Jordan Cook (Bryant, Ark.).

Centenary goalkeeper Thomas Siskron (Shreveport) played all 60 minutes and collected 2 saves and now has 160 saves this season and an impressive 281 career saves. Siskron added five ground balls.

The Gents tallied 15 ground balls and had four caused turnovers. Waniewski had four ground balls and sophomore D Ethan Little (Tyler, Texas) added a pair. Sophomore M Dario Garcia (Dallas, Texas) had an assist and took three shots, one on goal. Waniewski is now second on the team this season with seven goals.

Friday's meeting was the second this season between the teams as Southwestern earned a 19-2 win over the Maroon and White back on Feb. 28 in Shreveport. The Gents will now close the season at Dallas on April 24 at 1 p.m. Centenary defeated the Crusaders, 7-4, on March 7 at home.
