The Gents (2-4-1, 2-3 SCAC) will be playing at home for the first time in nearly a month after three-straight road matches in conference play. Centenary is 2-1-1 at home this season and defeated Austin College, 4-2, in its most recent appearance on its home turf on March 13. The four goals were a season-high for the Gents.
Centenary, which is 9-4-1 in its last 14 home matches dating back to last season, posted an impressive five shutouts at home last season. The Gents are currently sixth in the conference standings while Schreiner (0-6, 0-6 SCAC) is ninth.
Gents' junior goalkeeper Sami Borchalli (Lafayette, La.) has started all seven games this season and has made 26 saves and recorded one shutout. He ranks third saves in the SCAC, tied for third in saves per game, and sixth in both goals against average and save percentage.
Sophomore midfielder Andres Bautista (Houston, Texas) has had a solid follow-up to his fantastic freshman campaign as he ranks in the top five in the conference in both goals (2 – T4th), and assists (2 – T5th). He is also third in shots, fifth in shots per game, and tied for fifth in points. Fellow sophomore MF Jaron Petreas (Denton, Texas) is tied with Bautista for the team lead in goals (2) as he is also fourth in the league in goals and is tied for 10th in points.
Centenary's six seniors will be honored in a postgame ceremony on Saturday. They are: D Shim Eliya (Fort Worth, Texas), F Ali Ibrahim (Shreveport), F/MF Gin Pau (Bossier City), MF Greg Petreas (Denton, Texas), D Jonathan Thomson (Corsicana, Texas), and F Matthew Young (Alexandria, La.).
The Gents finish the regular season at Texas Lutheran on Saturday, April 17. Centenary then will serve as host for the 2021 SCAC Men's Soccer Championship on April 23 and 25 at Mayo Field.
