Men's Soccer Falls, 3-0, at Texas Lutheran in Regular-Season Finale

Seguin, Texas - The Centenary men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contest on Saturday in the regular-season finale for both teams at Gustafson Field.

The Gents (3-5-1, 3-4 SCAC) have secured the No. 6 seed in next weekend's SCAC Championship quarterfinals at Mayo Field as Centenary is serving as the tournament host. Centenary will face No. 3 seed Colorado College. Texas Lutheran improved to 4-3 (4-3 SCAC) with Saturday's win.

The Bulldogs took an early 1-0 lead in the match as Nicolas Medina scored in the 13th minute off an assist from Luis Green. TLU took that 1-0 lead into halftime and then Brandon Marin scored in the 55th minute to make it 2-0 with the assist credited to Jared Esparza. Ten minutes later Green scored on a penalty kick for the final margin of 3-0.

TLU took 14 shots in the match compared to eight for the Gents. Centenary utilized both of its goalkeepers as junior goalkeeper Sami Borchalli (Lafayette, La.) started and made two saves, and fellow junior Patrick Riley (Baton Rouge, La.) relieved him and made one save in close to six minute of action.

The Bulldogs also played two goalkeepers as Noel Pena started and played the first half, making two saves, and Caleb Weed played the second half and made two saves himself.
