Diamond Gents Blast Dallas 15-2 On Sunday To Complete Weekend Sweep

Irving, Texas– The Centenary baseball team completed a three-game weekend sweep over the University of Dallas Crusaders in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with a resounding 15-2 victory in seven innings on Sunday afternoon at the UD Baseball Facility.

The Diamond Gents (17-13, 7-5 SCAC) swept a doubleheader on Saturday over the Crusaders (9-17, 3-9 SCAC) by a score of 14-5 in game one and 2-1 in game two. Centenary improved to 9-7 on the road as the Maroon and White pounded Dallas pitching for 17 hits on Sunday. Three Centenary pitchers limited the Crusaders to five hits, limiting them to just one walk, and struck out five batters.

Centenary has now scored 10 or more runs in a game an impressive 12 times this season and 29 times over the last two seasons. Centenary has scored 15+ runs in a game five times this season and scored in double digits five times in conference play. The Diamond Gents have also recorded 10 or more hits in game 21 times, at least 13 hits 14 times.

The Diamond Gents return home next weekend to face Austin College in a three-game conference series Thursday through Saturday and then welcome Southwestern to town April 22-23 for their final home series of the regular season.
