Shreveport - The Centenary football team remained unbeaten with a blowout victory over the John Melvin University Millers by a score of 57-0 on Saturday night at Rodney Duron Field on the campus of Evangel Christian Academy.

The Gents (3-0) continued their impressive offensive work this season and matched that with stellar defense to record their second-consecutive easy win following a 79-6 victory last Saturday at home against Louisiana Community Christian.

Centenary led just 2-0 after one quarter following a safety but exploded for 27 points in the second period to take a 29-0 halftime lead. The Gents then scored 21 points in the third quarter and added a final touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Sophomore RB Josh Ware (Shreveport, La.) led the way on the ground with 13 carries for 55 yards, freshman RB Cedrick Allison (Oakdale, La.) had 10 carries for 51 yards, and freshman QB Vance Feuerbacher rushed six times for 30 yards and was 4-9 for 17 yards.

Freshman QB Jalen Robinson (Amite, La.) rushed five times for 25 yards and was 2-6 for 19 yards. Sophomore WR Randy Levert (New Orleans, La.) rushed five times for 25 yards. Freshman TE Isaiah King (Weatherford, Texas) caught two passes for 11 yards, Allison caught a pair of passes for seven yards, and freshman WR Jay Richardson (Baton Rouge, La.) scored the final TD of the game, catching a beautiful 14-yard pass late in the fourth quarter from freshman QB Cade Dardar (Lafayette, La.).

Freshman DB Chris Davis (Harrisville, Miss.) had a huge night defensively as he intercepted three passes and returned two for scores – one for 35 yards in the second quarter and the other for 43 yards in the third period.

Centenary will face the Haywood Crusaders on Sept. 30 at 1 p.m. in its next contest.
