Shreveport - The Centenary football team recorded another blowout victory on Wednesday evening, defeating the TWA College BattleCats by a score of 57-8 at Mayo Field.

The Gents (6-0) and BattleCats were supposed to play at Evangel Christian Academy but the game was moved on campus as it was the second time the Maroon and White played at Mayo this season following a scrimmage against East Texas Baptist University back on Aug. 24. The Gents have outscored the opposition 297-47 this season.

The game was delayed nearly two and a half hours after TWA ran into travel issues on its way and then game was delayed roughly 10 minutes as a BattleCats wide receiver was injured on the first play of the game and had to be taken off on a cart by medical personnel.

Centenary got on the board first as freshman WR Devin Ardoin (Mamou, La.) scored on a 10-yard touchdown run. Freshman K Russell Skipper Jr. (North Richland Hills, Texas) added the PAT for a 7-0 lead with 7:41 remaining in the first quarter.

Freshman QB Jalen Robinson (Amite, La.) kept it himself for a one-yard run with 3:01 left in the first and Skipper's PAT made it 14-0 Gents. Freshman LB Jamil Cloman (Monroe, La.) intercepted a pass and took it 68 yards to the end zone for a pick-6 score and a 21-0 lead with :40 seconds left in the quarter.

Centenary exploded for 26 more points in a busy second quarter to take a 48-0 lead to the halftime locker room. Sophomore RB Josh Ware (Shreveport, La.) had a 14-yard TD run, Robinson had another one-yard run, the Gents' defense tackled a TWA ball carrier in the end zone for a safety, Skipper had a 43-yard field goal, and Robinson hit freshman WR Byron Stewart (Geismar, La.) for a 14-yard TD pass.

TWA avoided the shutout as Carmelo Autry returned an interception 70 yards for a score on the final play of the third quarter and QB Darius McGrew hit WR Anthony Cotrill for the two-point conversion to make it 54-8. Skipper Jr's 47-yard FG made it 57-8 in the fourth quarter to cap the scoring.

Centenary will now be off for 12 days and return to action with a contest versus the Texas Lutheran JV squad on Monday, Oct. 30 at 5:30 p.m. The game will be played in Fort Worth, Texas at Lake County Christian High School but is considered a home game for the Gents. The Gents finish the season next month with a pair of road games at Arkansas Baptist (Nov. 4 – 2 p.m.) and at Lyon College (Nov. 11 – 2 p.m.).
