Undefeated Gents To Face Arkansas Baptist College On Road Saturday

Little Rock, Ark. – The Centenary football team is back on the road this weekend as the undefeated Gents will face Arkansas Baptist College on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Scott Field.

The Gents (7-0) posted a dominant 28-0 shutout over the Texas Lutheran University JV squad on Monday evening at Lake Country Christian School in Fort Worth, Texas. The Buffaloes (1-8) lost at home to Wayland Baptist University on Oct. 28 in their last appearance. Centenary has outscored the opposition this season, 325-47, and pitched three shutouts.

"Monday's victory was a complete team effort," said Centenary head coach Byron Dawson. Freshman WR Devin Ardoin (Mamou, La.) had a great game with two scores and the offensive line did a good job run blocking and protecting the QB."

"We are totally focused on Arkansas Baptist and the challenge of playing them for homecoming. They are a well-coached team that's loaded with size and speed. We must be totally focused and ready to go.

"Furthermore, we are so excited about the construction on campus. The new facilities are really nice. It's a testament to the commitment of the college and the leadership of our director of athletics and recreation, David Orr."

The Gents finish the season next Saturday on the road against Lyon College in Batesville, Ark. at 2 p.m.
