Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: December 4 Edition

Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: December 4 Edition

Hello Centenary Gymnastics Fans! Freshman Rylie Molina here with this week's Gym Talk.

This week the Ladies finished their last finals, and the semester, to finally go home to their families. For most of the Ladies, this is the first time seeing their families since move in day. We were able to take this week to rest and recover before our next few weeks of strenuous practices before the start of season.

I know everyone was so excited to go home to some amazing Thanksgiving dinner, and homemade cooking overall. It is the best feeling to be able to walk into your house after a long day of traveling and smell the delicious scent of good cooking. It's also a nice reward for finishing a week full of stressful tests. Our Ladies even followed the strict covid rules during Thanksgiving dinner. For example, sophomore Kennedy Stephens and her family had Thanksgiving dinner outside. This is also the perfect way to get some fresh air before that winter cold gets here.

Although the Ladies were getting their much needed rest, we are still able to put in some work at our home gyms, with covid safety of course. This helps to keep our bodies moving in preparation for December training, and work off some of that good food. Since we will not have to worry about deadlines and schoolwork when we get back to campus, we will be able to work our absolute hardest during the practices leading up to season. I cannot wait to see the Ladies working so hard these next few weeks!

A couple of us also got some very exciting news this week! One of our juniors, Kendall Knaps, found out that she is going to be an aunt, and all of the Ladies could not be happier for her and her family. Sophomore Madison McCary has a big step towards her recovery coming up. This Friday is her 6 weeks since her surgery and she can start putting some weight on her foot! We are so proud of her progress and cannot wait to see her back. Also, I am going to be getting my release back to full gymnastics as soon as we return. It's been a long 6 months and I am excited to start getting back to doing all my skills and building back into full routines!

Overall, this week has been pretty good for the Ladies getting some rest, relaxation, and family time. I can't wait to see what this team has to offer in the gym during December and this upcoming season. I'm also so excited to be able to spend these next few weeks with my team and hopefully make some great memories along the way. I am sad to be leaving the homemade cooking and my family, but it is worth it to be able to see my best friends again. So… thank you for joining me in this weeks Gym Talk. Keep your eyes open for next week's Gym Talk with freshman Courtney Tripp. Don't forget to wear your masks, and of course, GO LADIES!!

Bye for now,

Rylie
