Hey Ladies Fans! This is senior Jenny Jackson with this week's gym talk.
This past week has been a whirlwind; but let me just say the Ladies faced adversity head on and rocked it! We started this week with determination and fire to get back into the gym, getting ready for season. Unfortunately, COVID got the best of some of us. With the adverse conditions, we were in for some new experiences! With both our coaches in quarantine one of these new experiences included getting coached by our coaches via Zoom. We had a few people step in to be in the gym with us so we want to give a special thanks to Ellen Reid & Elizabeth Sander for coming and helping us out while we were coach-less.
Because of some of our quarantine situations we had to cancel our first meet. We were, of course, disappointed, but again in true Lady fashion and took it all in stride. You may be wondering how the Ladies dealt with this adversity, well with intra-squads of course! During multiple practices, we had surprise intra-squads. You know coach Jackie likes to keep us on our toes, even when she isn't physically present!
We started out with beam in the Dome. Shoutout to Kennedy Stephens for an amazing beam routine! We then had another beam intra-squad and senior, Jerrica Harris led us off with a beautiful set! The next day we had a floor intra-squad, and our floor roars threw some beautiful, huge tumbling! Lastly, we had a bar intra-squad to end our week of hard work. Let me just tell you how proud I am of our bar stars (you know who you are). They absolutely rocked their routines and SWANG some bars!
The Ladies are excited to start excelling in the classroom, as we start our spring semester as we are already hitting the books!!! However, as we finished the week and got prepared for our spring semester to start, we got a very nice surprise. Our first day of classes were cancelled due to a snow day! To say the Ladies had fun playing in the snow is an understatement!
Oh, and GUESS WHAT?! It's MEET season baby! The Ladies are so passionate and determined this season, make sure you keep your eyes on us!
