Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: January 22 Edition

Hey Ladies gym fans, it's senior Si-Si Ponder back with this week's gym talk

The Ladies are finally starting our spring semester buckling down in our academics. This semester looks a little bit different where some classes are in person with a smaller teacher to class size ratio or they are fully online. Covid has really made things very unpredictable and our school is doing a great job at keeping all of their students safe. Aside from Covids wrath, there has been a bright side to the classrooms, for the first time since I've been at Centenary the majority of the Ladies share most of the same classes. Not only is it fun to be in classes with your teammates but it's nice to already have a set group of people you feel comfortable studying with.

On the flip side of academics, comes balancing athletics. Season is finally here!!! We might have missed our first meet, but we've taken the time out to be prepared for the rest of season. Assignments have become focused on the details and the Ladies are putting in that work, and it shows when they are hitting those routines. Shout out to Kendall Knaps on those aggressive beam routines, we need that intensity! She's really been honing in on that mental choreography. During the season it can be easy to forget about focusing on what you are feeding your mind due to our crazy schedules but she's doing really well so keep it up! I also want to shout out Lauryn for being ready for pretty much anything, she's doing what it takes to be a great member of the team.

Unfortunately, we've still been having to quarantine some Ladies, but I know their comeback will be stronger than ever. We the Ladies are a resilient group who support each other no matter what, especially in times like these. Our first meet will now be a tri-meet at home against TWU and Air Force Academy.  Centenary athletic events are closed (no fans allowed) because of Covid, but you can catch the meet on live stream or on our social media pages.

Catch you later,

Si-Si Ponder
