Men's Basketball Drops Exhibition At Northwestern State, 84-57

Natchitoches – The Centenary men's basketball team fell 84-57 on Tuesday evening to the Northwestern State Demons in an exhibition game at Prather Coliseum.

Tuesday's game was the second and final exhibition game of the 2019-20 season following a 74-64 loss to the LSU-S Pilots last Wednesday. Centenary and NSU met for the 142nd time on Tuesday and despite the loss the Gents still lead the all-time series, 75-67.

Centenary will open its regular season on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at Louisiana College, and the Maroon and White's home opener will be on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m. against Millsaps in the Gold Dome.

Senior guard Cedric Harris (Shreveport) led the Gents with 20 points. Harris, a former C.E. Byrd star, is a two-time All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference selection in his career. Sophomore forward Ty Prince (Thorndale, Texas) added 10 points and five rebounds as he was the only other Centenary player in double figures. The Gents shot 35.4 % from the floor for the game.

The Demons had five score in double figures led by Jarius Roberson's 13. NSU shot 53.4 % for the game from the field and 50 % (11-22) from three-point range.
