Ladies Swept By Trinity On Sunday

Colorado Springs, Colo. – The Centenary volleyball team fell 3-0 to the Trinity University Tigers on Sunday in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action, the Ladies' final match of the weekend in the SCAC Crossover inside the El Pomar Sports Center.

The Ladies (5-10, 0-5 SCAC) dropped a pair of matches on Saturday - 3-1 to Schreiner University and 3-0 to the host Tigers. Trinity improved to 14-3 and 6-0 in SCAC play with Sunday's win.

The Ladies finished with 45 digs, 26 kills, 24 assists, and three service aces while the Tigers totaled 43 digs, 36 kills, 34 assists, and nine aces. Trinity won set one by a score of 25-15, took set two 25-19, and the third set, 15-17.

Ladies' Leaders:

Aces: Junior OH/DS Kiara Liedy (Sugar Land, Texas), sophomore S Meadow Smith (Mansfield, Texas), and sophomore DS/L Daly Nagot (Benton, La.) – 1 each

Assists: Meadow Smith – 19  

Digs: Liedy and Nagot – 9 each

Kills: Junior RS Jaylin St. Martin (New Orleans, La.) and freshman RS/S Victoria Larson (Royse City, Texas) – 6 each  

Liedy added an ace and an assist, Smith added eight digs and one kill, and Nagot tallied three assists. St. Martin also had eight digs and one assist and Larson added three digs.

Senior MB/OH Robin Lemelle (Liberty, Texas) had five digs and five kills, junior MB Elizabeth Canady (League City, Texas) finished with four kills and three digs, freshman MB Bailee Henderson (Monroe, La.) had two kills, and Freshman MB/OH Reign McArthur (Midlothian, Texas) added a kill.  

Centenary will face Wiley College on Wednesday evening in Marshall, Texas at 6 p.m. The Ladies swept the Wildcats at home on Sept. 6.
