Ladies Fall To LeTourneau In Home Finale

Shreveport – The Centenary volleyball team fell 3-1 on Tuesday evening to the LeTourneau University YellowJackets in a non-conference contest and the Ladies' final home match of the season at the Gold Dome.

The Ladies (7-19) won the first set by a score of 25-19, but the YellowJackets (10-11) won the next three sets in order – 25-10, 25-23, and finally 25-13 to clinch the match. LeTourneau now leads the all-time series 12-9 and sent the Maroon and White to its sixth-straight loss as they finished 5-8 at home this season.

The Ladies finished with 80 digs, 38 kills, 32 assists, six service aces, and four solo blocks while the YellowJackets finished with 84 digs, 42 kills, 39 assists, 13 aces, and two solo blocks. Centenary tallied 80+ digs for the fourth time this season and did so for the first time since posting a season-high 106 against Louisiana Christian University on Oct. 17.

Aces: Freshman S/DS Hannah Dimmel (Navasota, Texas) – 3

Assists: Sophomore S Meadow Smith (Mansfield, Texas) – 21

Blocks (Solo): Freshman MB Bailee Henderson (Monroe, La.) – 3

Digs: Junior OH/DS Kiara Liedy (Sugar Land, Texas) –32

Kills: Junior MB Elizabeth Canady (League City, Texas) – 10

Sophomore DS/L Daly Nagot (Benton, La.) had 16 digs and two assists, freshman S Hailey Hill (La Grange, Texas) had an impressive match with 12 digs, seven assists, and four kills, and freshman MB/OH Reign McArthur (Midlothian, Texas) recorded six digs. Freshman RS/S Victoria Larson (Royse City, Texas) finished with two digs, two kills, and a solo block, and freshman OH/DS Mackenzie Haley (Orange, Texas) had nine kills and three digs. Senior OH Madison Schonberg (Harbor City, Calif.) chipped in a pair of kills and one dig and freshman UT Yadneli Molina (Vinton, La.) had one dig.

The Ladies return to Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play this weekend for a Crossover hosted by Austin College in Sherman, Texas. The Ladies, 0-12 in league play this season, will face Texas Lutheran (1:15 p.m.) and St. Thomas (6 p.m.) on Saturday and finish their season on Sunday with matches against Southwestern (10 a.m.) and the host 'Roos at 2:30 p.m.
