Ladies Set To Close Season This Weekend On Road

Sherman, Texas – The Centenary volleyball team will finish its season this weekend as the Ladies will play four league matches in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Crossover hosted by Austin College.

The Ladies (7-19, 0-12 SCAC) aim to snap a six-game losing streak after falling 3-1 at home to the LeTourneau University YellowJackets in their final home match on Tuesday evening. Centenary, which played host to its own conference Crossover event last weekend, will face the host 'Roos, Southwestern University, the University of St. Thomas, and Texas Lutheran University. The Ladies' complete weekend schedule is below:

Saturday, Oct. 28

Centenary vs. TLU (18-7, 8-4 SCAC) – 1:15 PM

Centenary vs. St. Thomas (15-9, 7-5 SCAC) – 6 PM

Sunday, Oct. 29

Centenary vs. Southwestern (9-13, 4-9 SCAC) – 10 AM

Centenary vs. Austin College (15-9, 4-7 SCAC) – 2:30 PM

Ladies' Season Team Statistics:

Centenary has 786 assists, 138 service aces, 44 solo blocks, 1,439 digs, and 870 kills. The Ladies are averaging 9.67 kills per set, 8.73 assists/set, 1.18 blocks/set, 1.53 aces/set, and 15.99 digs/set. The Ladies have a .113 hitting % with 496 errors in 3,296 total attacks.

Aces: Sophomore S Meadow Smith (Mansfield, Texas) – 31

Assists: Smith – 575

Blocks (Solo): Freshman MB Bailee Henderson (Monroe, La.) – 16

Digs: Junior OH/DS Kiara Liedy (Sugar Land, Texas) –394

Kills: Junior RS Jaylin St. Martin (New Orleans, La.) – 212

Sophomore DS/L Daly Nagot (Benton, La.) is having an impressive season as she ranks fourth on the team in assists (32), aces (22) and digs (196) and senior MB/OH Robin Lemelle (Liberty, Texas) is sixth on the team in kills (80) and fifth in digs (157). Junior MB Elizabeth Canady (League City, Texas) is second in kills (179) and total blocks (32).

Freshman RS/S Victoria Larson (Royse City, Texas) has turned in a solid rookie season as she has recorded 86 kills, 45 assists, 28 digs, and 16 total blocks. Freshman OH/DS Mackenzie Haley (Orange, Texas) has been impressive as well as she has totaled 90 kills, 68 digs, seven blocks, four assists, and two aces.

Smith, in addition to being the team leader in both aces and assists, has totaled 228 digs, 36 kills and eight blocks. Henderson, along with her team-best 16 solo blocks, has 116 kills (third on team), 16 digs, four assists, two aces, and 43 total blocks (leads team) as she also has 27 block assists. Liedy also has 40 assists, 28 aces (second on team), and two kills and St. Martin has 208 digs (third on team), 29 total blocks, 24 aces, and seven assists.

Freshman S/DS Hannah Dimmel (Navasota, Texas) has 16 digs, 10 aces, and five assists and freshman S Hailey Hill (La Grange, Texas) has been impressive lately with 52 assists, 36 digs, four kills, three total blocks, and an ace, senior OH Madison Schonberg (Harbor City, Calif.) has 41 kills, 12 digs, three solo blocks, and one assist and freshman MB/OH Reign McArthur (Midlothian, Texas) has 19 digs, 17 kills, 17 total blocks, five aces, and three assists.

Season Statistical Notables:

The Ladies' 106 digs against Louisiana Christian University on Oct. 17 at home are the 10th-most in a match in the division III (2011-present) era.

Centenary had 16 aces in its home sweep over Tougaloo on Sept. 27, which is tied for ninth in a single match in the D3 era.

The Ladies' win over Williams Baptist at home on Oct. 14 marked career win number 100 for head coach Ashley McDonough. She is also now just three wins away from becoming the all-time winningest coach in program history.
