Sherman, Texas – The Centenary volleyball team was swept in a pair of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference matches on Saturday, falling 3-0 to both Texas Lutheran University and the University of St. Thomas in a conference Crossover hosted by Austin College inside Hughey Gym.

The Ladies (7-21, 0-14 SCAC) aim to snap an eight-game losing streak on Sunday as they finish their season with a pair of matches, at 1:15 p.m. against Southwestern University at 10 a.m. and then against the host 'Roos at 2:30 p.m. 

Match one recap: Texas Lutheran 3 Centenary 0

The Bulldogs won set one by a score of 25-14, took set two by a score of 25-9, and closed out the win with a 25-8 win in set three.

The Ladies tallied 35 digs, 16 assists, 16 kills, and two service aces. The Bulldogs recorded 54 digs, 43 kills, 36 assist, eight aces, and two solo blocks.

Ladies' Statistical Leaders:

Assists: Sophomore S Meadow Smith (Mansfield, Texas) – 7

Assisted Blocks: Freshman MB Bailee Henderson (Monroe, La.) – 4

Aces: Junior OH/DS Kiara Liedy (Sugar Land, Texas) and freshman S Hailey Hill (La Grange, Texas) – 1 each

Digs: Senior MB/OH Robin Lemelle (Liberty, Texas) – 10

Kills: Lemelle – 4

Smith added two digs to go with her team-leading seven aces, Henderson had three kills, Liedy had eight digs and an assist, and Hill had six digs and five assists. Junior MB Elizabeth Canady (League City, Texas) had three kills and three block assists, freshman RS/S Victoria Larson (Royse City, Texas) added three kills, and freshman MB/OH Reign McArthur (Midlothian, Texas) chipped in had one block assist and one dig.

Sophomore DS/L Daly Nagot (Benton, La.) had seven digs and three assists, freshman OH/DS Mackenzie Haley (Orange, Texas) recorded a kill, senior OH Madison Schonberg (Harbor City, Calif.) had one dig, and freshman RS Maia Kraft (Galveston, Texas) added two kills.

Match two recap: St. Thomas 3 Centenary 0:

The Celts won the first set by a score of 25-15, set two 25-12, and clinched the sweep with a 25-10 win in the third set.

Centenary finished with 53 digs, 16 kills, 16 assists, and one service ace. St. Thomas totaled 66 digs, 42 kills, 40 assists, and nine aces.

Assisted Blocks: Canady – 4

Aces: Hill – 1

Digs: Liedy – 16

Kills: Canady, McArthur and Henderson– 3 each

Smith added eight digs and a kill to go with her team-leading six assists, Hill's 13 digs were second-most behind Liedy's 16, and she had one kill. Nagot finished with five digs and one assist, Lemelle tallied three digs, two kills, and an assist, and Larson added two block assists, a dig, and a kill.

Haley had a kill, freshman S/DS Hannah Dimmel (Navasota, Texas) had three digs and a kill, McArthur added three assisted blocks and a dig, and Henderson also had three digs and a pair of block assists, and Kraft chipped in three block assists.
