Sherman, Texas – The Centenary volleyball teams' season came to an end of Sunday afternoon as the Ladies were swept in a pair of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference matches, falling 3-0 to both Southwestern University and host Austin College in a conference Crossover hosted by the 'Roos.

The Pirates dominated the first set, winning 25-6, won set two by a score of 25-15, and clinched the sweep in set three, 25-17.

The Ladies totaled 40 digs, 12 kills, nine assists, and four solo blocks while the Pirates finished with 51 digs, 37 kills, 32 assists, 11 service aces, and four solo blocks.

Assists: Sophomore S Meadow Smith (Mansfield, Texas) – 4

Assisted Blocks: Junior MB Elizabeth Canady (League City, Texas) and freshman MB/OH Reign McArthur (Midlothian, Texas) – 2 each

Digs: Junior OH/DS Kiara Liedy (Sugar Land, Texas) and senior MB/OH Robin Lemelle (Liberty, Texas) – 9 each

Kills: Freshman MB Bailee Henderson (Monroe, La.) – 3

Smith added five digs and a kill, Canady added a kill to her team-leading number of assisted blocks and solo blocks, McArthur also had two kills and a solo block, Liedy added an assist, Lemelle also had two kills and an assisted block, and Henderson also had an assisted block and a dig.

Freshman RS/S Victoria Larson (Royse City, Texas) had four digs, a kill, an assisted block, and a solo block, freshman S Hailey Hill (La Grange, Texas) had five digs, an assist, and one block assist, and freshman OH/DS Mackenzie Haley (Orange, Texas) finished with two digs, two kills, and one assist. Freshman S/DS Hannah Dimmel (Navasota, Texas) had an assist, sophomore DS/L Daly Nagot (Benton, La.) tallied a dig, and junior DS Allana Scott-Daniels (Spring, Texas) had four digs and one assist.

The 'Roos won the first set by a score of 25-11, took set two 25-16, and closed out the win with a 25-16 win in set three.

The Ladies finished with 76 digs, 26 kills, 18 assists, two service aces, and one solo block. The 'Roos recorded 81 digs, 50 kills, 43 assists, four aces, and a solo block.

Hill added seven digs with her team-high number of assists and aces, Lemelle and Smith each had 16 digs and combined for three kills, Nagot totaled eight digs and two assists, senior OH Madison Schonberg (Harbor City, Calif.) added four digs and three kills, Henderson tallied a pair of digs to go with her team-best 10 kills, Haley added four kills and a pair of digs, and Canady had four kills and a dig. Larson had a kill and McArthur also had a dig and a kill.

The Ladies finish their 2023 campaign at 7-23 overall and 0-16 in SCAC play.
