Parker Primeaux Named SCAC Pitcher of the Week

Primeaux (Lake Charles, La.) made an appearance in all three games of Centenary's non-conference weekend series at home against Dubuque and pitched 5.2 scoreless innings. The right-hander allowed just two hits with four strikeouts and did not walk a batter while picking up saves in two of his three outings.
He is 1-1 this season with a 2.21 ERA and a team-leading three saves. In eight appearances he has pitched 20.1 innings and struck out 16 while walking just five.
Primeaux has been one of the anchors of a Gents' staff that has a team ERA of 2.51 and has allowed two runs or less five times this season with a pair of shutouts. Centenary (9-2) is off to its best start to a season since beginning 8-3 in 2017.
The Maroon and White defeated Dubuque over the weekend 13-6, 5-1, and 4-0 to remain unbeaten in five home games this season and won for the seventh time in their last eight games. The Gents are now 8-1 in their last nine home games dating back to last season and have won 18 of their last 24 games overall going back to the start of last season.
Centenary remains at home this weekend as the Gents welcome the LeTourneau YellowJackets to town for a non-conference doubleheader set for Friday, March 12 at 3 and 6 p.m. The Gents are receiving votes in the current 2021 D3baseball.com/NCBWA Week 3 poll.
