
Diamond Gents Face Dallas In Weekend SCAC Series
The Centenary baseball team is set to face the University of Dallas Crusaders in a three-game weekend series in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play, beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 and 4 p.m. at Shehee Stadium.

The Diamond Gents (9-5, 2-1 SCAC) opened conference play by taking two of three games last weekend at home versus Texas Lutheran. Dallas (10-9, 1-2 SCAC) lost two of three games at home last weekend against Southwestern. The Diamond Gents have dominated the all-time series with the Crusaders, winning 24 of 35 matchups, and have won eight games in a row. Centenary, 6-4 at home so far this season, is 39-12 at Shehee Stadium since the beginning of the 2021 season.
Centenary enters the series batting .303 as a team (second in the conference) with a .387 on-base percentage and is slugging .379. The Diamond Gents are averaging 7.3 runs per game and have scored double-digit runs in a game five times this season. Centenary has scored 11 runs in a game four times and a season-high 14 in a 14-3 rout of Ozarks on Feb. 11 at home. The Diamond Gents have collected 10+ hits in a game nine times this season and six times in a row with their season high being 13, accomplished on four different occasions.
The Diamond Gents have collected 26 extra-base hits, 173 total bases, walked 48 times, been hit by a pitch 19 times, and have stolen 37 bases in 46 attempts. Centenary's pitching staff sports an impressive 2.12 team ERA with a pair of shutouts. The Diamond Gents lead the conference in ERA (2.46) and rank third nationally in division III.
Freshman RF Carson Livesay (Lafayette, La.) is Centenary's top hitter through 14 games as he holds an impressive .426 batting average (.508 OBP/.648 slugging) with a team-leading 23 hits in 54 at-bats. He has 11 RBI (second on team), 17 runs, and five doubles. He also has a pair of triples, a homer, six stolen bases and eight walks compared to just eight strikeouts.
Livesay is first in the league in slugging, second in batting average, third in OBP, fourth in runs scored, seventh in doubles, tied for eighth in hits, and tied for first in triples. He is one of five Diamond Gents starters hitting .300 or better this season.
All-American sophomore LHP Tyler Herrera (Spring, Texas) has picked up right where he left off following a phenomenal freshmen season as he leads the team in wins and is 3-1 with a 2.28 ERA and a pair of complete games. Senior RHP Parker Primeaux (Lake Charles, La.) recorded his 14th-career save last weekend versus TLU and is now tied for second place all-time in the division III era (2012-present). He needs just four more saves to become the program leader. He is 2-0 this season with one save and a miniscule 1.09 ERA.
