Gents Lacrosse Falls At Oglethorpe On Sunday

Atlanta, Ga. – The Centenary men's lacrosse team lost by a score of 15-7 to the Oglethorpe University Petrels on Sunday afternoon in a non-conference match.

The Gents (0-3) played their second-straight contest on the road after falling 18-11 to the LaGrange College Panthers on Friday.

Oglethorpe took a slim 3-2 lead after the first period on Sunday and held a 7-5 advantage at the half. The Gents outscored the Petrels, 3-2, in the final period but a 6-1 third quarter in favor of Oglethorpe helped lead to the victory.

Gents freshman Michael Mosura (Bossier City) scored three goals for the second-straight game after recording three on Friday at LaGrange. Mosura scored two goals in his collegiate debut at home on Feb. 9 versus Huntingdon College and now has eight in Centenary's first three games of the season.

Fellow freshman Mark Temple (Houston) added two goals on Sunday after scoring four against LaGrange. John-Mark Waniewski (Bossier City) added a goal and now has five in his last two games after matching Temple with four on Friday.

Oglethorpe took 60 shots in Sunday's game to 27 for the Gents. Centenary had 19 saves while the Petrels recorded seven. Cam Ritter led Oglethorpe with four goals while four other Petrels recorded multi-goal games.

Centenary stays on the road for its final stop on a three-game road trip as the Gents face Birmingham-Southern on Tuesday, Feb. 18 before returning home for three-consecutive home games in early March.
