Lacrosse To Face Hilbert College At Home Thursday

Shreveport - The Centenary men's lacrosse team welcomes the Hilbert College Hawks to town on Thursday evening for a non-conference game set for 5 p.m. at Mayo Field.

Live video and live stats will be available via www.gocentenary.com.

The Gents (0-4) will be playing just their second home game of the season and for the first time since their season opener on Feb. 9, a 20-5 loss to Huntingdon. Centenary was away from home Feb. 14-18 for a three-game road trip to Alabama and Georgia, facing LaGrange, Ogelthorpe, and Birmingham-Southern. Hilbert (2-1) defeated the University of Dallas, 14-13, on Tuesday in a road contest.

John-Mark Waniewski (Bossier City) scored one of two Centenary goals in the Gents' last game against Birmingham-Southern and now leads the team with eight and is tied for fourth in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. He scored four against LaGrange last month. Gents Freshman Mark Temple (Houston) has seven goals this season and is tied for seventh in the conference. Fellow freshman Michael Mosura (Bossier City) has matched Temple so far with seven goals. Mosura posted back to back three-goal performances on the road trip. Temple scored four against LaGrange and added two goals against Oglethorpe.

The Gents face Southwestern on Saturday, March 7 at 1 p.m. in a SCAC contest. Centenary then faces Franciscan on Thursday, March 12 at 7 p.m.

Live stats and live video are available for all home matches and admission is FREE to all Centenary home athletic events. #GoCentenary #CTheOpportunity
