Shreveport - The Centenary lacrosse team dropped a 27-1 decision to the Southwestern Pirates on Saturday in the Southern Collegiate Conference Athletic Conference opener for both teams at Mayo Field.

The Gents (0-6, 0-1 SCAC) received a goal from freshman Brooks Smitha (Shreveport) on an assist from Michael Mosura (Bossier City). Mosura scored three goals on Thursday against Hilbert and now has 10 goals on the season. Smitha also scored three goals on Thursday. Southwestern improved to 4-0 and 1-0 in the SCAC with Saturday's win.

Centenary remains at home to face Franciscan on Thursday, March 12 at 7 p.m.
