Lacrosse Falls to Birmingham-Southern Tuesday On Road

Birmingham, Ala. - The Centenary men's lacrosse team lost 21-2 to the Birmingham-Southern Panthers on Tuesday evening in a non-conference game as the Gents wrapped up their three-game, three city road trip.

Centenary (0-4) faced LaGrange and Oglethorpe in non-conference matches on Friday and Sunday in Georgia before facing the Panthers. Birmingham-Southern improved to 2-1 with Tuesday's win.

John-Mark Waniewski (Bossier City) scored one of two goals on Tuesday and now leads the team with eight and is tied for the conference lead. He scored four against LaGrange on Friday. Gents Freshman Mark Temple (Houston) scored the other goal on Tuesday and has seven goals this season. Fellow freshman Michael Mosura (Bossier City) has matched Temple so far with seven goals as the two rookies are tied for second in the conference in goals scored. Mosura posted back to back three-goal performances on the road trip. Temple scored four against LaGrange and added two goals on Sunday against Oglethorpe.

The Gents now return home for three-consecutive home games in early March. Centenary will face Hilbert on Thursday, March 5 in its next game at 5 p.m. at Mayo Field and then welcomes Southwestern on Saturday, March 7 at 1 p.m. in a SCAC contest. The three-game home stand wraps up with a game against Franciscan on Thursday, March 12 at 7 p.m.
