Lacrosse To Face Franciscan At Home Thursday

Shreveport - The Centenary lacrosse team will finish its three-game home stand on Thursday evening as the Gents welcome the Franciscan University Barons to Mayo Field for a 7 p.m. non-conference contest.

The Gents (0-6, 0-1 SCAC) dropped a 27-1 decision to the Southwestern Pirates last Saturday at home in the Southern Collegiate Conference Athletic Conference opener for both teams. Franciscan (1-3) picked up its first victory of the season on Tuesday as the Barons defeated the University of Dallas, 13-9.  The Barons hail from Steubenville, Ohio.

Centenary received its lone goal last Saturday from freshman Brooks Smitha (Shreveport) on an assist from Michael Mosura (Bossier City). Mosura scored three goals last week against Hilbert and now has 10 goals on the season. Smitha also scored three goals on Thursday.

The Gents will play their next three games on the road following Thursday's contest. The Maroon and White will face Hendrix in Conway, Ark. on March 20, Dallas on March 29, and finish up at Johnson and Wales in Denver on April 11.
