Hot Start for Montes

Junior Kyra Montes is off to a fast start for the Ladies with a goal in all five games and seven goals overall. She also tallied her first collegiate hat trick in Centenary's 3-2 (OT) win against Schreiner September 9 and was named the United Soccer Coaches Player of the Week.

In fact, Montes has more goals this season than 195 NCAA Division III women's programs.

In the season record book for the NCAA Division III era of Ladies soccer, Montes is third in goals scored (seven) and game-winning goals (three), fourth with four assists (tied with classmate Olivia Jackson), and sixth with 18 points.

Nationally, her three game-winning goals rank second, her 18 points are fifth, and her seven goals is sixth.

Among the Conference Leaders

The Gents have a history of having goalies among the SCAC leaders – Rylan Whan from 2013-16 and Kaleb Behm in 2017. This season is no different for freshman Sami Borchalli.

Borchalli leads the conference and is 13th in the nation with 34 saves, more than double higher than his nearest competitor.
