Gents Soccer Falls to Trinity, 4-0

SHREVEPORT, La. – In its final home Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference game of the season, Centenary (1-12-2, 0-11-1 SCAC) fell to #10 Trinity (10-1-1, 8-1 SCAC) 4-0 Sunday afternoon, October 7.

Gents freshman goalie Sami Borchalli saved five shots in the first half, but a very fortunate cross that went in the goal in the seventh minute led to the only score in the first half for the Tigers. Josh Davis had a throw in right in front of the Centenary bench, and he found Jacob Hallenberger. Hallenberger intended to hit a cross far post to Ryan Hunter, but the ball sailed over his head into the upper 90 for the goal.

Hallenberger later scored off of Hunter's missed shot. Trinity added two more goals in the final 11 minutes.

Borchalli finished with a career high 16 saves, his fourth double-digit save contest of the season. Blake Lieberman recorded the shutout, making three saves.

Senior Nick Hammond and sophomores Greg Petreas and Matthew Young put the only shots on target for Centenary.

Centenary returns to action next Saturday afternoon, October 13, for senior day against Mississippi University for Women. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
