Ladies Soccer Drop First Match of Year to Trinity, 5-0

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Centenary (6-1, 4-1 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference) lost its first game of the year at Trinity (4-1-1, 3-0 SCAC) 5-0 Sunday afternoon, September 16.

Due to weather in and around San Antonio, the game was played at the University of Incarnate Word.

Centenary was outshot 24-2, including 8-1 in shots on target. Freshman Kat Martinez managed a shot on goal in the second half. Leading Trinity was Kaity Ward with two goals in the first half.

Sophomore Maggie Pitcher and freshman Avery Sanderson split time in goal for the Ladies. Sanderson grabbed all three saves for the Ladies in the second half. Paige Wallace played in goal for 73 minutes and recorded the lone Tigers' save.

The Ladies return to action next Friday, September 21, at Southwestern. Kickoff in Georgetown, Texas, is slated for 7 p.m.
