Women's Basketball Drops 62-52 Decision To Millsaps At Home

Shreveport, La. – The Centenary women's basketball team dropped 62-52 decision to the Millsaps majors in a non-conference contest on Tuesday evening at the Gold Dome.

The Ladies (0-2) were led in scoring by freshman guard Destini Powell (Minden, La.) who had 16 points along with seven rebounds while junior guard Alex Williams (Shreveport) added 12 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Junior forward Bre Frierson (Shreveport) had a team-best nine rebounds and added eight points.

Millsaps junior forward Dia Fortenberry (New Orleans) led the majors in scoring with 17 points and added 14 rebounds. Junior guard Taelor Manning (Memphis, Tenn.) had 13 points and Megan Donaldson (New Orleans) added 11 points. The Majors improved to 3-1 with Tuesday's victory.

The Ladies will hit the road for four consecutive games following Tuesday's contest. Centenary will face Mississippi University for Women on Friday, Nov. 22 in Columbus, Miss. At 5:30 p.m. and then meets Belhaven on Saturday, Nov. 23 in Jackson at 2 p.m.
