Ladies Fall 2-0 To Sul Ross State On Sunday

Richardson, Texas - The Centenary women's soccer team was blanked 2-0 by Sul Ross State University on Sunday afternoon in a non-conference contest played at the University of Texas at Dallas.

The Ladies (0-4) fell 1-0 in a hard-fought match to UTD on Friday evening at home and are still in search of their first goal this season. The Lobos improved to 2-2 with Sunday's win.

Sul Ross' Daniela Ibarra scored in the 33rd minute off an assist from Micayla Roque and Alexis Rogers added a late goal in the final seconds with the assist credited to Mia Leal for the 2-0 final edge.

The Lobos finished with a 22-4 advantage in shots and 6-3 in corner kicks. The Ladies were whistled for eight fouls and the Lobos were called for four. Junior GK Madison Ersoff (Shreveport, La.) went the distance and made five saves while Sul Ross GK Eliya Alvidrez also played the entire match and made two saves.

Centenary is back home on Tuesday evening as the Ladies welcome the Belhaven University Blazers to Mayo Field for a non-conference match set for 5:30 p.m. The Ladies remain at home for a pair of non-conference contests this weekend, facing Birmingham-Southern College on Friday evening (6 p.m.) and Millsaps College on Sunday afternoon (1 p.m.).
