Shreveport- The Centenary women's soccer team aims for its second win in a row as the Ladies welcome the Birmingham-Southern College Panthers to town for a non-conference contest on Friday evening set for 6 p.m. at Mayo Field.

The Ladies (1-4) recorded their first win of the season on Tuesday evening as sophomore D/MF Kylie Zeller (Denham Springs, La.) scored a late goal to lift the Maroon and White over the Belhaven University Blazers 1-0 in a non-conference contest at home. Friday evening is also Centenary Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night at Mayo Field.
The Panthers (2-1-2) defeated LaGrange College 2-1 at home on Wednesday. Centenary completes its weekend at home versus Millsaps College on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
The match went into a lightning delay at halftime that lasted an hour and a half, thus the victory was worth the wait. The Ladies and Blazers played to a scoreless draw for 80 minutes until Zeller broke the tie with her first-career goal and the Ladies' first of the season, in the 82nd minute.
Junior GK Madison Ersoff (Shreveport, La.) registered her first shutout of the season and second of her career as she made four critical saves on Tuesday. Ersoff and the Ladies' defense have been solid all season despite just one victory in five matches as Centenary has lost a pair of 1-0 decisions and a 2-0 loss to Sul Ross State.
The Ladies are 2-0 all-time against Birmingham-Southern but will be facing them for the first time since 2001. Centenary and Millsaps, on the other hand, are frequent opponents as Sunday's meeting will be the 12th all-time as the Ladies hold a 9-2 advantage and last met in 2019, a 5-2 Ladies' win.
Centenary completes its weekend at home versus Millsaps College on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
