Brownwood, Texas- The Centenary women's soccer team will face the Howard Payne University Lady Jackets in a non-conference contest on Saturday set for 5 p.m. at Citizens National Bank Soccer Field.

The Ladies (1-4-2) return to action for the first time since earning a scoreless tie at home last Sunday versus Millsaps College while the Lady Jackets (3-4) fell at home to Austin College on Thursday by a score of 1-0.
The Ladies are the sixth-straight Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Team that Howard Payne is facing having previously played Schreiner, Southwestern, St. Thomas, and Texas Lutheran before their match against Austin College on Thursday. Centenary and Howard Payne have previously met three times with the Lady Jackets winning all three previous matches, in 2011, 2014, and last season – a 4-1 loss at home.
Centenary enters Saturday's play having held the opposition scoreless for the last 270 minutes covering three-straight matches with a 1-0 home win over Belhaven on Sept. 12 and a scoreless tie against Birmingham-Southern on Sept. 15 prior to the 0-0 tie against Millsaps.
Centenary's three-straight shutouts as a team are the most in a row since recording five in a row in the 2020 season a single season in program history in the division III (2011-present) era and are the eighth-most in a single season by a Ladies' team in the D3 era.
Junior GK Madison Ersoff (Shreveport, La.) was named the SCAC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday as she recorded those three shutouts. Ersoff, who now owns four shutouts in her career recorded 14 saves in the three matches and earned the weekly conference honor for the first time. Ersoff's three shutouts are tied for the fifth-most in a single season by a goalkeeper in the D3 era.
Sophomore D/MF Kylie Zeller (Denham Springs, La.) scored her first-career goal in the win over Belhaven as the Ladies and Blazers played to a scoreless draw for 80 minutes until Zeller broke the tie with the Ladies' first goal of the season as a team, in the 82nd minute.
Centenary will face LeTourneau University on Tuesday, Sept. 26 in Longview, Texas and then play three-straight home matches from Sept. 30-Oct. 8.
