Ladies Sweep Williams Baptist In Home Opener On Saturday

Shreveport – The Centenary Ladies volleyball team completed an impressive doubleheader sweep over the Williams Baptist University Eagles, (3-0/3-0), on Saturday in non-conference action at the Gold Dome in the Ladies' home opener.

The Ladies (5-6) rebounded nicely from a 3-1 road loss to the Grambling State Lady Tigers in a non-conference match on Tuesday evening. Centenary went 3-5 overall last weekend as the Ladies split their roster up and participated in both the Lyon College Highlander Invitational in Batesville, Ark. and the Millsaps/Belhaven Invitational in Jackson, Miss.

The Eagles fell to 0-10 with the pair of losses. The two teams were meeting for the third time but for the first time since the 2016 season. The Eagles were 2-0 all time versus the Ladies having also won a match back in 2013 and now the series is tied.

Centenary remains at home for three consecutive matches, facing Jarvis Christian on Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 6 p.m., then Grambling in a rematch from last week on Tuesday, Sept. 21 at 6 p.m. and then Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. versus Louisiana College.
