Ladies Drop Pair of SCAC Matches On Friday

Sherman, Texas – The Centenary volleyball team dropped a pair of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference matches on Friday by scores of 3-0, falling to Texas Lutheran in its opening match of the day and then to Colorado College in its evening contest.

The Ladies (10-14, 1-6 SCAC) will play two more matches in the conference divisional event on Saturday, as they face St. Thomas at 10 a.m. and Austin College at 2 p.m.

Centenary lost its first match of the day to the Bulldogs by scores of 25-16, 25-13, and 25-20. The Ladies then were swept by the Tigers, 25-19, 25-20, and 25-12. The Ladies collected 59 digs, 29 kills, 29 assists, and two aces in match one and then tallied 25 digs, 20 kills, and 17 assists in the evening match.

Centenary senior OH Alyssa Davis (Leonard, Texas) finished the day with 19 kills, 15 digs, an ace, and an assist. Senior S Marichael Clarin-Jante (Houston, Texas) totaled 38 assists and 16 digs. Sophomore DS/L Jaycie Proctor (Paris, Texas) had 17 digs and five assists. Sophomore DS/L Tori Ligman (Bossier City, La.) finished with 15 digs and fellow sophomore MB/OH Robin Lemelle (Liberty, Texas) had nine digs and six kills.

Senior OH Lauren Kelley (Fort Worth, Texas) added seven kills, five digs, and an ace and freshman RS Jaylin St. Martin (New Orleans, La.) tallied 11 kills, one assist, and one dig, and senior MB Elizabeth Epley (Nashville, Tenn.) had five kills.
