Ladies Drop Pair of SCAC Matches On Saturday

Georgetown, Texas – The Centenary volleyball team dropped a pair of 3-0 decisions in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Saturday to host Southwestern and Trinity in a conference divisional at the Robertson Center.

The Ladies (11-17, 2-9 SCAC) will square off with Schreiner at Noon on Sunday to complete action this weekend. Centenary finished 1-3 last weekend at a SCAC divisional in Sherman, Texas as the Maroon and White dropped matches to Colorado College and Texas Lutheran and then split Austin College and defeating St. Thomas.

Trinity took set one, 25-16, set two 25-20, and then closed out the match with a 25-15 win in set three. In the Ladies' second match of the day, Southwestern won the first set, 25-9, took set two 25-16, and then won the third set, 25-17. 

Centenary finished the match against Southwestern with 48 digs, 17 kills, and 16 assists. The Ladies recorded 52 digs, 31 kills, 27 assists, and five aces versus Trinity. Sophomore DS/L Jaycie Proctor (Paris, Texas) recorded 23 digs and a pair of assists on Saturday while freshman RS Jaylin St. Martin (New Orleans, La.) had a big day for the Ladies with 28 digs, 13 kills, and an ace. 

Senior S Marichael Clarin-Jante (Houston, Texas) tallied 34 assists, 12 digs, and four kills. Sophomore DS/L Tori Ligman (Bossier City, La.) had six digs and three aces and senior MB Elizabeth Epley (Nashville, Tenn.) had four kills, two aces, and a dig.
