The Gents (1-3-1) are eager to be back home after going winless on their recent three-game road trip and will be playing at Mayo Field for the first time since earning a 0-0 tie versus Sul Ross State on Sept. 3. Centenary was edged 3-2 on Tuesday night at Belhaven in Jackson, Miss. after falling in a pair of contests last weekend at LaGrange (4-0) and Huntingdon (4-2). ETBU enters Friday's match at 3-1 overall after recording a 2-1 home win over Belhaven last Saturday.

Belhaven led 2-1 at the break on Tuesday and then each team scored one goal in the second half. Centenary was aggressive all night, finishing with a lopsided advantage in shots (14-5) and took seven corner kicks while holding the Blazers to none.

The Blazers struck first on an unassisted goal by John Tolliver in the 20th minute. Just over two minutes later, Julian Carreira found the net off an assist from Aleksander Harris for a 2-0 lead. In the 34th minute, senior MF Jaron Petreas (Denton, Texas) scored an unassisted goal to cut the lead in half. The goal is Petreas' third of the season and second in as many games after scoring one in the Gents 4-2 loss at Huntingdon on Saturday. A minute after Petreas' score, Carreira received a red card and a dismissal from the match.

Centenary junior D/MF Adam Bihler (Charlotte, NC) tied the match in the 56th minute with his first-career goal but Igor Rudolph's score in the 76th minute delivered the Blazers the win. Gents' senior goalkeeper Sami Borchalli (Lafayette, La.) went the distance and was not credited with any saves. Belhaven GK Max Rudolph went the distance, allowing both goals and recording a pair of saves.

The Gents scored a 2-1 victory over the Tigers last season, winning in Marshall, Texas on Oct. 25. That win was the first of three in a row to end the season for the Maroon and White as they outscored the opposition 10-3. Senior MF Colton Howard (Keller, Texas) connected on a penalty kick in the 10th minute of the first half for a 1-0 lead. ETBU scored its loan goal just a few minutes later and the match stayed tied until the 69th minute when sophomore MF Brennan Amato (Denham Springs, La.) found the net off an assist from Howard.

Centenary wraps up the weekend on Sunday evening as the Gents face LeTourneau University at 7:30 p.m.
