Shreveport - The Centenary men's soccer team played the East Texas Baptist University Tigers to a scoreless draw on Friday evening in a non-conference match at Mayo Field.

The Gents (1-3-2) and Tigers (3-1-1) delivered an intense and exciting match, despite no goals, to one of the largest home crowds all season at Mayo Field. The all-time series now stands at 3-2-2 between the two rival schools separated by roughly 45 miles.

Centenary was aggressive from the start and finished with 16 shots, five corner kicks, and had six shots on target. ETBU finished with nine shots, four corners, and the teams combined for 25 fouls and three cards were issued.

Gents' senior goalkeeper Sami Borchalli (Lafayette, La.) played all 90 minutes and recorded two saves and made a multitude of solid plays around the goal. The shutout is Borchalli's third this season and 14th of his stellar career. ETBU GK Gunner Barry also went the distance and made six saves. Eight Gents played all 90 minutes while five Tigers did so on a humid but mainly pleasant evening.

Centenary senior MF Jaron Petreas (Denton, Texas) took a game-high four shots, freshman F Aaaron Myers (Plano, Texas) took three (two on goal), and sophomore F Dylan Allred (Lafayette, La.) and sophomore MF Brennan Amato (Denham Springs, La.) each took two and both of Allred's were on goal.

Centenary wraps up the home weekend on Sunday evening as the Gents face LeTourneau University at 7:30 p.m.
