Petreas Named To CSC 2022 Academic All-America ®Team
Centenary senior MF Jaron Petreas (Denton, Texas) has been named to the 2022 Academic All-America® men’s soccer team as selected by the College Sports Communicators.
AUSTIN, Texas – Centenary senior MF Jaron Petreas (Denton, Texas) has been named to the 2022 Academic All-America® men's soccer team as selected by the College Sports Communicators.
Petreas landed on the second team after being named to the 2022 Academic All-District ®Team last month. He holds a cumulative GPA of 4.0 in Economics with a minor in legal studies and earned Second Team All-SCAC honors this past season.
Petreas finished his career ranked second in career goals (12), tied for third in assists (6), second in points (30), first in shots (93), and tied for third in game-winning goals (3). He started all 59 matches that he played in and scored seven goals this past season – tied for second-most in a single-season in the Div. III era. Petreas earned all-conference honors for the third time in his stellar career after he earned Second team honors as a sophomore in 2020 and Honorable Mention recognition as a junior last season.
Petreas was announced as the 2022 SCAC Men's Soccer Elite 19 winner earlier this month and is now the first two-time SCAC Men's Soccer Elite 19 winner, previously winning during the COVID shortened 2020-21 season. Petreas was honored as the SCAC Male Student Athlete of the Week last month as he was recognized for his efforts off the field in the Shreveport-Bossier community. The SCAC Character & Community award honors the efforts of student-athletes who excel in the field of athletics, and also serve their campus and community.
The Division III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Division III Academic All-America® program.
