Jackson, Miss. - The Centenary women's soccer team fell 1-0 to the Millsaps College Majors in a non-conference contest on Wednesday evening at Harper Davis Field.
The Ladies (0-3-1) were coming off of a 3-3 tie at Huntingdon College on Sunday but could not find the net on Wednesday against the Majors (2-5-1). Centenary still leads the all-time series 9-3-1.
The match was scoreless until Millsaps' Alex Bremond scored in the 59th minute, an unassisted goal and her fifth of the season, to make it 1-0. Millsaps GK Emily Lozano and her defense then made that one goal stand up for the remainder of the match. Lozano made two saves in her 90 minutes of action.
Sophomore GK/MF Zoe Keller (Waggaman, La.) went the distance for the Ladies in goal and recorded eight saves in her 90 minutes. Keller made her first-career start on Sunday against Huntingdon as she also made eight saves in that match.
Millsaps finished with a 16-3 advantage in shots and had nine shots on goal to Centenary's two SOG. The Majors took five corner kicks to the Ladies' three and the teams combined for 10 fouls – six by the Majors and four by the Ladies.
Centenary will finally play on its home field this weekend for the first time this season as the Ladies will face LeTourneau University on Saturday at 5 p.m. and then Wiley University on Sunday at 4 p.m.
