Ladies Fall 3-0 At Dallas
The Centenary women's soccer team fell 3-0 to the University of Dallas Crusaders in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference match on Sunday afternoon at the UD Soccer Facility.
Irving, Texas - The Centenary women's soccer team fell 3-0 to the University of Dallas Crusaders in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference match on Sunday afternoon at the UD Soccer Facility.
The Ladies (3-7-2, 1-3 SCAC) were also shutout 3-0 by the Austin College 'Roos on Friday night in Sherman, Texas and are now 0-5-2 on the road this season. The Crusaders improved to 3-6-1 overall and 1-2-1 in league play with the victory.
Dallas scored twice in the first half and added one goal after halftime and finished with an 11-4 advantage in shots and took the only two corner kicks of the match.
Sophomore GK/MF Zoe Keller (Waggaman, La.) went the distance in the net for the Ladies and made two saves. The Crusaders' Ella Charles also played the whole match and made two saves in her shutout.
Claire Reed scored the first goal of the match at the 22:47 mark with the assist credited to Britney Zapata. Less than five minutes later, Nevaeh Coronado scored with Semya Chancellor assisting to make it 2-0 at the 26:22 mark. Chancellor scored on unassisted goal at the 53:07 mark of the second half to cap the scoring and make it 3-0.
The Ladies return home next weekend to face Concordia University and McMurry University in a pair of SCAC matches at Atkins Field.
