SETH THOMAS OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a senior forward from Kilgore, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men's Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Wednesday, November 8 through Sunday, November 12. SCAC Men's Basketball Release (Week 1)

Thomas was the team's leading scorer in all three games last week, averaging 17.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.3 steals per game while sinking a combined 12-of-14 from the free-throw line over the Gents' opening week of action. He shared the team lead with 20 points against Texas College in an 89-72 season-opening win on Nov. 8 and then scored 33 points in Centenary's two games in the Huntingdon (Ala.) College Hawks Classic over the weekend.

He has now reached double figures in scoring 26 times over the last two seasons.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore guard Dinari Boykin of Colorado College averaged 18.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game as the Tigers split a pair of games on the week. He posted his first double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds in an 82-81 victory over Rhodes College, and scored a game-high 21 points in CC's 75-67 loss to Nebraska Wesleyan in the season opener. Junior guard Calvin Williams IV of St. Thomas had an outstanding opening week for the Celts, posting an average of 19.5 points per game. The league's defending Player-of-the-Year made 48.3 percent of his shots and was 70.0 percent from the charity stripe. Sophomore center Christian Rodriguez of Schreiner was a key contributor off the bench in Schreiner's opening day victory against Howard Payne, scoring 15 points on 70.0 percent (7-10) shooting. He followed up with two strong performances in Abilene against McMurry and Hardin Simmons, which included a career high 22 points in addition to nine rebounds to lead the Mountaineers in a close loss to Hardin-Simmons. For the week, he added five steals, two assists, and two blocks while shooting an efficient 57.1 percent from the field and 40 percent from beyond the arc. Junior forward Easton Allen of Texas Lutheran had a career-high 16 points and matched his career high with 12 rebounds in Saturday's 75-73 loss at McMurry on Saturday. First-year guard Gio Gutierrez of Southwestern finished with 17 points, making an immediate impact on the game in his first collegiate performance against Concordia (Texas).
