The Gents (5-6) fell 67-59 to the University of St. Thomas Celts in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup in Houston last Tuesday. Tuesday's game is their final non-conference contest of the season. The Wildcats (3-6) lost to Southwest (New Mexico) at home on Saturday by a score of 75-71.

The Gents and Wildcats first played in 1922 as it is one of Centenary's longest-running series and one they lead all-time, 34-15. LCU defeated Centenary 63-51 at the Gold Dome last season and has won two in a row and three of the last four meetings.

Gents' Individual Season Statistical Leaders:

Blocked Shots: Freshman F Khristian Wilkerson (Killeen, Texas) and Thomas – 0.5/game each

Steals: Thomas and junior F Jakobi Greenleaf (Houston, Texas) – 1.5/game each

Thomas, in the midst of another sensational season for the Maroon and White, enters Tuesday's play as the conference's second-leading scorer and is eighth in rebounding. He has reached double figures in all 11 games this season and scored 15 points and grabbed a season-high 14 rebounds, last week in the loss against St. Thomas as he recorded his second-consecutive double-double. He is ranked in the top 70 in the country in division III in scoring.

Thomas is the only Gents averaging double figures this season but Centenary features a well-balanced scoring attack as 10 players average 4.0 PPG and seven are averaging 6.6 or more. Wilkerson, in addition to being tied with Thomas for the team lead in blocked shots per game, averages 6.5 PPG and 2.8 rebounds/game while Greenleaf averages 9.8 PPG, 6.0 rebounds/game, and 1.9 assists/game.

Sophomore G Quentin Beverly (Katy, Texas) is averaging 8.0 PPG and 2.9 rebounds/game, sophomore G Dalyn Davis (Natchitoches, La.) averages 7.7 PPG and 3.0 RPG, senior G Jalen Behr (Athens, Ga.) is at 7.2 PPG and 3.1 RPG, and senior G AJ Hall (Thibodaux, La.) averages 6.9 PPG and 1.3 boards/game. junior G Craig Collier (North Little Rock, Ark.) averages 5.4 PPG and freshman G Gerald Murage (Irving, Texas) is averaging 4.5 PPG.

The Gents, 2-6 on the road this season, will play their next three games at home and six of their next eight will be at the friendly confines of the Gold Dome. Centenary, which hammered Millsaps 85-45 on Dec. 5 in its most recent home game, is a stellar 38-8 on its home court in its last 46 games and has won 14 of 16.

Centenary, 1-2 so far in conference play, return home for a New Year's Eve matinee in SCAC play against the Colorado College Tigers set for Noon inside the Gold Dome.
