The Gents (2-1) return to action for the first time in seven days after they went 1-1 last weekend in the Hawks Classic in Montgomery, Ala. hosted by Huntingdon College. Centenary defeated the Hawks 89-70 and then fell 83-76 to the LaGrange College Panthers. Arlington Baptist enters Monday's action at 2-3 overall.

Centenary and Arlington Baptist will meet for the third time as the Maroon and White are 2-0 all-time against the Patriots after opening the 2021-22 season with an 87-77 win at the Gold Dome followed by a season-opening 101-64 blowout victory last season at home.

The Gents are averaging 84.7 points per game on the young season and shooting 44.6 % from the floor, including a solid 39.5 % from beyond the arc. Centenary shoots an even 70 % from the free throw line, averages 31.3 rebounds/game and 15.3 assists/game. Senior F Seth Thomas (Kilgore, Texas) is the Gents' leading scorer as he averages 17.7 PPG and he is also the leading rebounder at 7.3/game.

Thomas scored 18 points in the loss to LaGrange last Sunday and finished 10-11 at the FT line with six rebounds, four assists, and one steal in 34 minutes after he scored 15 points in the win over Huntingdon, shooting 5-10 overall, 3-4 from beyond the arc, and 2-3 at the FT line in 31 minutes with seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Thomas was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Nov. 14. Thomas, who scored 20 points in the Gents' season-opening win over Texas College on Nov. 8, has now reached double figures in scoring 26 times over the last two seasons.

Junior F Jakobi Greenleaf (Houston, Texas) averages 11.3 PPG and senior G AJ Hall (Thibodaux, La.) is the third Gent averaging double figures at 10.7 PPG. Senior G Jalen Behr (Athens, Ga.) is averaging 9.3, sophomore G Quentin Beverly (Katy, Texas) averages 8.3, and freshman F Khristian Wilkerson (Killeen, Texas) averages 8.0. Junior G Craig Collier (North Little Rock, Ark.) averages 6.7 and had 13 points in the win against Huntingdon.

The Gents are an impressive 36-8 in their last 44 home games and are 12-2 in their last 14 following the 89-72 victory over the Texas College Steers earlier this month. Centenary will face the Steers again on Tuesday in a game played at LSUS set for 4 p.m. The game will be considered a home game for Texas College.
